Lagos Police Command arrested 8 civilian over Mushin violent conflict

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 8 civilian suspected to have been involved in the violent conflict that took place in Ido-Oro, Mushin on Sunday, which led to the vandalization of people's valuable properties. During the clash, several property around the area was burnt and destroyed.

The arrest was confirmed by the Command Spokeman, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole to the News Agency of Nigeria. He also said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, had deployed enough Armed police officer to the area to ensure peace and protect the lifes and property of its citizen.

The suspected civilian arrested in Ido-Oro were caught with machetes and axes during the time of their arrest. Though things has gone back to normal in the area but police officers are still in patrol to keep the area safe.

"The people of the area can now go about their daily business as there is free-flow of traffic in the area," Famous-Cole said.

According to some resident and eye witness in the area, the up-roar started on Sunday among some residents in Alamutu area of Idi-Oro in Mushin and the issue degenerated on Monday morning, which led to the destruction of many properties.

On alerting the Police, men of the Rapid Response Squad were deployed to the area to gain peace and put the situation under control.
